I am so depressed now a days. nothing seems right for me. Any suggestion will be appericiated. Happy New Year to u all.

I think everybody goes through this phase, when you feel worthless & you start taking everything negatively. It comes and goes. For me, it is like a cycle, & I am two extremes,sometimes very high, sometimes very low.Being a gal, the PMS thing takes the toll sometimes.Hormones the unknown chems from the designer God.So just be calm, composed and wait for the time. The positive thoughts will slowly overcome your negative ones , & you will feel happy again .We all are with you in this phase.At least am alway there, friend.I know how it feels.You are simply not alone.Actually, I am also suffering the same rite now.

cleopatra, is absolutely right. Everybody gone through the success and unsuccess in their life but it does not not mean that we stop breathing. Well, I have the same problem all the time but YOGA and deep breath help me a lot. So try to concentrate or meditate. Otherwise music also helped me a lot or walk for a while also help. Try to stop thinking negative and what I do when the negative comes to me I try to make busy with oher things..... there are different therapies in the market to overcome the depression but the medicine of depression is our MIND and BODY communication so try to think positive all the time......................one says that our mind is a garden if we cultivate positive thinking it will produce postive and vice versa.

Everybody get depressed in their life time. Nothing to worried about it be Happy.

I know very much about depression seeing my own family member suffering through it. I am glad you are telling publicly. The best cure of depression is not hiding the fact that you are depressed and get help from your freinds and family as soon as possoble. In addition to that make sure visit doctor, medicine is also essential for this mental illness. After couple of years of medication, one can be free from Depression. It is growing illness , also curable like any other illness. One in every five american takes prescribed medicine for Depression.

The fact that you are saying you are depressed makes me think twice about whether u are really depressed. You might be frustrated and see no purpose in life its not depression its something else. But if you are seeing a dead end and no where to escape its likely depression.
I have seen severe depression around; some have taken their life and others have come out of it.

Psychatists say lack of serotonin on the brain and chemical disbalance !- they prescribe medicine.

Sunsine, exercise are the best ways!

timro khai kun level ko depression ho? but it is good that u are talking about it. i agree with what people have said before me. tara, i would not advice you to take anti-depression medication unless it is absoulutely necessary because it might trigger other psychological side-effects. if you start taking these medicines, you will also have to be careful taking other medicines, even the ones that relieve cold symptoms. hope u will feel better soon.

Agree with live wire- Try fighting without the medication- suicide rate is very high in the first 3 mnths of use.

Depression is a state of mind.
Of course Yoga helps a lot to get over with depression. Yoga alone is not enogh.
You have to change your diet too. Less fat, less sugar, less meat, less white products
like white flour, white sugar, white creamy milk, white rice but lots of fresh vergetables mainly green vegetables.There are quite few very good stuff in nature that you can take them to avoid depression.
For example:
Asparagus: Specially green Asparagus we should eat this wonderful vegetable once a week. It is not a drug to overcome your problems but it balances the chemical composition inside the brain.Asparagus root is the most effective part for this. You can also get this in powder form in Ayurvedic shops in US.

Yeah live_wire is true.No need of additonal chems since your own body is battleing with unnecessary hyper secretion of chems.Just chill. Depression is normal as normal can be.It is just a state of mind.So,don't think that you are depressed. Just think that your hormones are acting weird. That is it! You are absolutely NORMAL, OKAY?

Can you elaborate on whts goin on ur mind and daily behaviou? Are you eating your normal diet? wht have changed before? how long u sleep? any unusual thoughts ? Or u don't know whts goin on?

Actually there is no level in Depression.
When you are depressed any wrong kick can infect
the whole situation to a explosion. Depression in any
level is a depression and it is curable.
In most cases, patient has medicine himself inside him.
He just need prescription how to use it..

Causes of Depression From Ayurvedic Perspective

From the standpoint of Ayurveda there are two main causes of depression.

* An imbalance in the three doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

* A lack of awareness of one's deeper, inner Self.

From the Ayurvedic point of view, most depression is a kapha imbalance that is the culmination of vata and then pitta going out of balance. Initially the brain's electrochemistry has an erratic overreaction (vata imbalance), which triggers a loss of enzymatic activity in the metabolism (pitta imbalance). Kapha responds by trying to glue everything down, bringing about heaviness, darkness, and stagnation that the mind-body interprets as the negative message of hopelessness and depression. In other words, because of specific etiological factors, vata from the colon, pitta from the intestine, or kapha from the stomach enters the general circulation and lodges in the nervous system, interferes with normal functioning of the mind and nervous system, and causes depression.

Sometimes depression is a pitta disorder. Allergies and the breakdown in metabolic processes they lead to can also disturb brain chemistry. This can cause dramatic mood swings, with depression as one of the consequences. Vata imbalance also can cause depression.

Indications of Depression Due to Vata Imbalance
In addition to your subjective feelings of depression or low mood and energy:

Vata pulse
Skin cold to the touch; you will feel cold, may even experience shivering
Poor appetite, weight loss
Digestive problems, constipation
Super-sensitive
Anxious
Can't sleep
Excessive talking about nothing and everything
Fearful
Restless, can't sit still
Frequent urination
Vata constitution and appearance: thin body, small eyes, dry skin, cracking joints, etc.

Factors That Contribute to Vata Depression

Too much sex or frequent masturbation

Overactivity

Exposure to cold or wind autumn or winter season

Overexercising

Irregular hours

Staying up late

Excessive consumption of caffeine

Treatment of Vata Depression
Follow Vata-pacifying diet. Eat foods that are strengthening, heavier, and warm. Avoid salads, fruits and caffeine; favor whole grains, vegetables cooked in oil and spiced, dairy products, nuts. Add more warm and "heavier" foods to the diet (such as soups, pasta, rice with well-cooked vegetables).

Maintain a regular daily routine with early bedtime.

Daily abhyanga (oil massage) either to the whole body, time permitting, or at least to the head and the soles of the feet.

Keep warm; take warm baths or showers.

Mild exercise such as walking or yoga postures.

Daily meditation. This would help to settle the person without threatening the dynamism characteristic of vata dosha.

Listen to relaxing music.

Use Vata-balancing herbs such as anise, cinnamon, cumin, ginger, gotu kola, licorice, nutmeg, sesame seeds, and valerian (for sleep).

I am completely mad today, so lemme speak the truth.
Sayami,You have everything but still you are like Badar, who does not know what to do with the coconut in his hand.
And STX109diito budha, you are still living in that bhoot age.Even my own buwajyu comes from that damn league. Sabai ko Surya Ekdin Asta huncha, why don't you guys understand that?

Thank u all for giving your time. i am depesssed for not getting any success on anything that i am trying to do. i quit school few years back and that hunt me every night and day. living alone for so many years is just killing me. Being passive, have no ego, no destiny, smoking too much dope(but i did quit) and listening too much metals is pulling to a black hole. And, i am trying to get out of this mess. I am still fighting, hoping i'll find a remedy, someday.

Once again , i salute u all.
