keep them coming guys, good ones Confused and Palpali.

I was trekking in Nepal with my American friends and the repeating words is the first thing they noticed, every morning Sherpas would bring tea into the tent and go like
" Chia Chia", and when ready to walk go " Jum Jum", and to rest "Rest Rest". They spoke english the same way repeating like "Eat Eat" etc. Gotto love it.

another true story Palpali:

A Nepali guy new in DC area got a ride from a non-nepali and was asked to drop him off at YUM Estreet, after driving around town for 1 hour the driver figured out "M" street.

Only in America do people a short sleeves shirt outside longsleeves and sideways baseball hat

bedrock, that wasn't you, was it?!?! funny though. and i love short sleeves outside long sleeves, but i did see a few nepalis doing that too.

only in america do they sell shot glasses in school bookstores (encouraging underage students to drink, perhaps....)
if they had shot (raksi) glasses in school bookstores in nepal:
"shree saraswati ma.vi. GO SWANS!"
"shree garuda ma.vi. GO EAGLES!"

you get the idea.....

only in america do we have way more than we need:
in america we can find two toilets in one house, in nepal we can find one toilet for two houses

in america we can find 3 sinks in one house, in nepal we can find one water tap for three families

only in nepal do people "namaste" electricity when it comes back on ("line aayo!!!")

nly in Nepal
you eat Daal Bhat Tarkari three times a day, 365 days a year.

tauko dukhe ni Cetamol, Pet duke pani cetamol, Ghau bhaye pani cetamol, Jiu haat dukhe pani cetamol

exactly. that's the reason I am allergic to cetamol.

Only in Nepal, you have to have strong index fingers to stop the safa tempo. For that glorious "twakka" sound.
Only in Nepal, you have to be really cautious when walking alongside a beautiful girl during holi to avoid all those lolas which will come every two houses.

Confused, that was funny. It brings back memories of sitting on the floor "pallati kasay rey" early in the morning and reciting the tables loudly.

In Nepal,

Milk = Mi-lik
H = Yach
L= Yal

We dunn need those tracks for dirt bike races in Nepal ! Most of the bikes are dirty ( esp. during the raing season), and then there are the innumerable potholes and the speed breakers @ silly places and the black top chipping here and there, and dangerously samll curves and yada yada!

Anyone up for Formula One ?

P.S. great driving pratice tho!
