so, with all the sex disscussion thats been going on (not appealing at all!), maybe some of you would like to think about other stuff(like me! why is sex so overrated anyway?) and answer a couple of questions that came up in a disscusion with orange vodka and orange juice (together mind you! )
so the question is..why are foreigners barred from pasupathinath?
if my friend who is wasnt a hindu, read up on hinduism, became aware of hindu ideoligies and knew more about it than the general nepali population and became a "hindu" and wanted to go inside pasupathinath to experience the glory of it (maybe because i talk about it so much?) how would she be able to go in?
how would she be able to prove herself as a hindu (shes fair skinned..)?
is there a legal way?
is it only my conception that the reason deciding whether one is a "hindu" or not is soley based on skin colour?
what makes a person hindu?
:) hope ur thursday night is as FINE as mine.and oh yea..thoughtful and insightful answers will be greatly appreciated..
~puchi..
please excuse typos and blame them on the vodka (not the orange juice..thats definately a healthy affair!)

Why are you talking about hinduism?
There is no thing called Hinduims.
No one is Hindu.
Hindu is a name given by the westerners.... its the nickname.
Then whats the real name? there isnt any real name?
Then what is it ?
Its the culture..... culture? of whom? of Fawking Aryans.
Yes, its Aryan culture that is named Hinduism.
Aryans are racist. Hitler was.
But not all are racist always..... example? New-Aryas were accepted as Aryas.... plus some from kiratas as well......
Why were they accepted?? because we shared the same land... southasian subcontinent- thus, possible to follow same culture....

You remember reading रामायण? रावण was not Aryan... thats why he was a demon..... and remember this.... it was that RAWAN who was demon-like.. not all the Lanka basi... there were some good people even from the same family as RAWAN who were accepted by RAMS (ARYAN). ... little bit of inclusion was working..... tho.

Aryans in South Asia didnt know about the Fawkin white people or their culture... let alone the religion.......... that faqin word....
Khaires are demon for Aryans.. specially if they are zews... remember Hitler....

Muslims forced many Aryans to follow their way by force... read history....... Thats why they are not welcomed in Aryan/Hindu viscinity...

Maintaining purity of your race still continues.... and will continue.......

South asia and its culture should prevail in southasia..... FAWQ Khaires and their influence..........

75 thousand years ago, there were only 1000 people on the surface of the earth around the equatorial regions of africa which was the only warm enough habitable place on earth... so, 6.5 billion people of the world today are just the descendants of those 1000 people. when the next ice age comes (maha pralaya), everyone will perish except a few in equatorial africa where it's warm enough then....

why are we talking dogma here... dogma is only symbolic and not real... what is real is you and me and what is we see, hear, taste, smell and touch around us... and that is it... nothing else.. that's it.. it's all about language. we only know what is we receive through these five senses. what we feel are only the processes of what we receive through these five input. if we have never seen anything.. we can never imagine, think or dream anything visual... ask a blind man by birth what he dreams about... he only dreams sound...

I am just wondering
What is aryan? Who were they? Are Europians also considered Aryan? Are all the people of India Aryan? What about the south Indian? Nepalese are belived to have come from India some 500 years ago to escape muslim invasion. If so why is there so much color difference between Indian and Nepali no mater if the Indian may be of aryan. Nepalese are relatively fairer(white) than Indian. Another important thing, if you go to sweden you will see that the color of swedish is almost same. But for example if you look in Nepal among a Brahmin, you will come across a brahmin who is very fair like a Europian. Some times you will see another Brahmin who is very dark(poldapoldai ucchitiyeko jasto) like an african. How is it possible? I have heard that this is because of mixing of Aryan with the locals of India during there migration. As a result of which both kind of feature can be seen in Nepali Brahmin. But in India the aryan mixed much more with Dravidianin inthe southern part, more than Nepalese that is why they are darker. But if you go northward then they appears to be fairer and fairer up to Afganistan. From pakistan Blue eyw is common resembling Europian like feature. some people claim that it is the difference of climate that made Indian darker than Nepalese which is nonsence. The climate doesnot change the skin within such a short period. Moreover Pakistan is hotter than India, still Pakistanis are fairer. If there is no mixing it is not possible to have different colors among the brothers of the same parents. Is here anybobody Bidwan in Sajha to quench my thirst?

just like me brother said today... what you need to achieve is purity which can only be achieved once u achieve all your desires... i say.. desires are there but you cannot ignore it. once you ignore you can never be happy, because it will just become continuous... just like krishna says in gita.. (okay... krishna is only symbolic to me... he is a protagonist of an epic)... you do what you have to do, but never expect the fruits of your action... because then you'll be disappointed whatever the results are... you jsust do what you have to do, and only imagine what you get, but just accept what you get.. but never desire what you want to get..

i have a desire that i want to retire by 40 and live in Mustang with my parents, because i am only a human being. if i did not have that desire, i would become buddha. i am not buddha, and i would never be one. i don't intend to be one... because i am full of desires.. and i like it just like that.. and give myself another good 12 years, before i enter into the abode of peace.

All the Rai tribe of Nepal are more or less the same in appearance. Similarly Limbu are also similar. Newars are vast different in appearance than Brahmin. But there is the explanation about Newars . As the lichhavi of India mixed with the locals of Kathmandu, then mall mixed and socialized in the same group, it is common to have difference in appearance among Newars. Moreover Newar is not a single community. There are alot of community among Newar also. Some are Hindu and some are Buddhist. But brahmin of nepal is considered the same group. Why so much difference?

Nice List Bikas Tiwari. Below, I have few comments and my thoughts in this matter.

Dearl All Participants,

To be a true hindu, wearing JANAI, Become a priest (by profession), reading sanskrit only, and others are not the core requirements. With out those one can become a Hindu by his/her Karma ( the right actions). Doing the "right thing" holds the Hindu Philoshopy or vice versa.

Now, what are those "right things- the KARMAS" needed to be explained. The one who wants to explore about KARMAs of life and henceforth to become a true hindu need to find the MASTERs - GURUs- the real yogis who are egoless, can explain if fully if the seeker is willing to learn about that secret of Hinduism.

Ask with your SELF "What do I need to find?" "a true Hindu?"
You may be in a battle of thoughts with in yourslef and would say, " no...that is my ego -discrimination of religion. "I am confined myself among the net of religions and races" Oh LORD! where can i find the answer, What are these religions, castes, races, ethincity? or if I am a True Hindu or not? Lord help me."

In this course of time, you might end up asking "Who am I? " insead of " what is the TRUE HINDU ..or others". There holds the secret of our Human life.

"Find out who am I?"

continuing with the True Hindu...and about exploring the information, you may ask yourself :

Question: where can one find those MASTERs?

Answer: Read Read Read.

Read the books in Hinduism...your will find those masters (the information) who will lead you to the right path to find the solution of the problem.

people, it was my few cents EXPERIENCE. I AM A HINDU BY BIRTH. NEVERTHELESS, I AM IN THE PROCESS OF PRACTICING HINDUISM THROUGH MY ACTIONS, the right ones. Identifying myself as being a HINDU is my EGO which has to be destroyed and merge myself to GOD (the supreme consiousness) has to be my real goal for being a "HINDU". That is what I have learned from Hindusim.

Their forefathers and mother apply this 10 commandment list...

But

Their offspring do not follow even 1 from this list.

I saw Bahun and Chettri people are eating not only meat but BEEF and PORK meats.
They drink alcohol more than any other Nepalese race people. They do have sex with different foreign woman and prostitutes.

They go to foreign countries and have all things that they supposed not to do and come to Nepal and marry very teen age girl which is illegal in most of the foreign country.

They f-u-c-k up of value and respect of Hindu Religion.

to understand the entire concept of hinduism and hindus (fyi, hindus didn't know they were hindus until the west coined the term), you only have to read one book - the bhagwat gita. read the one that has exact translation with no purports and just attempt to know what the line say. if you don't really understand then read the purport but don't believe the purport because it is only someone else's understanding. ultimately you'll know that hinduism actually doesn't accept idol worship or divine rituals.

Here is a very good translation online

Its not only non-Hindus, but so called un-touchables are also barred in many of the temples of Nepal. Whenever they tried to enter, there would be severe clashes. Whoever created temples and idols in Hindu Culture, they tried to keep away other communities from. This is a wrong idea and has to be changed.

Friday, 10 February 2006

In pashupati temple, there is not only one problem with restrict on access to foreigners.

There are serious list of problems:

(1) Corruption by priesthoods:

They do not contribute money to care pashupati temple. These priests hide money and never ever show proper financial report to Nepali authority or government.

World bank and foreign countries are pouring money to manage pashupati but pashupati management authority never ever taking care pashupati area and inside management.

Pashupati is home for homeless people and beggars. Parentless kids are everywhere there. Neither pashupati authority and police care, nor Nepali government and Hindu organization.

(6) Smuggler and Drugs:
In history of Shiva, God used to use Marijuana (Gaja) in the special propouse of medication and meditation. But nowadays all Indian sadhus, Europeans tourist and local youth are freely have Gaja there. It is creating social problem.

(7) Market place:
Pashupati must be a serious World Class Temple. Top Hindu religion place but all kind of business people target as a money tree. They sell cheap good and religious items in expensive price. They earn easy money. These activities less value and respect of pashupati temple as well as Hindu religion.

(8) Dirt and Liters:
In pashupati are, Dirt, Liters and Shits are everywhere. Pashupati is a place where God Shiva used to meditation and lives. You can see dirty stuffs everywhere that makes you get out from pashupati as soon as possible.

(9) Pollution and contamination:
There is no proper place to dump liters and traces. They cremate death body in pashupati and dump into river. People wash clothes, take bath and drinks same water from the same bagmati river. Water is so contaminate and pollute of river.

(10) Mis-use of lands and properties:
Pashupati management authority does not care about its lands. They improperly use pashupati area. There are several new building build up. There no proper toilets or restrooms.

(11) Mis management in preservation and protection:
There are so many ancient historical valuable things around pashupati but authority and government never ever care about these things. Everyday these things are either destroying or loot.

(12) Old homes and Abuses:
There are so many old people live as like homeless. They never get proper care, security and support. Culprits are abuses to them.

(13) Hindu Organization is sleeping:
Bahun padits Hindu Organization always scream about Hindu Religion, but these organization and these people never ever take care precious Hindu Temple and Areas. These people are just looking their high recognition, money and lavish life. These people are behind their only self-interest.

What do you think about these problems?
