This company provides VoIP solutions. But see how it has managed to hide itself from the government of Nepal.

With a clever play on words, Learner 1 writes:

"What if it turns out that only less than 5 per cent of the public the like you? Think about it."

Sure, the truth of the above sentence has a THEORETICAL possibility.

Now, since you appear to be so invested in this about me, go ahead and
prove that the possibility you raised is true and valid.

Do your field work, and report back your conclusions from the field.
I'll be happy to turn over the names and addresses of acquaintances from my address-book for your, ahem, research.

Alternatively, may I suggest that you commission AC-Nielsen to do a study, and share the results on Sajha, OK?

Meantime, until your results from the field come in and prove me wrong, I shall
continue to GENERALLY assume that -- in most of our lives -- it's the 5 per cent of acquaintances, at the one end of the 'likeability bell curve' who create the 95 per
cent of halla against any of us . . . and that's the way it goes . . . for me, you and anyone else.

An analogy:

Look at Girija.
Reading various newspaper reports last month, I thought everyone hated him.

But guess what?
I was wrong.

Instead, to (most) people's surprise, he was overwhelmingly ELECTED as the
Chairman of the NC . . . for the third time. There was really no contest, pretty
much a walkover from his opponent.

Looking back, I have been asking myself: How was that possible?

One hypothesis is that Nepali newspapers gave a disproportinate coverage to
"the 5 per cent" of Girija-bashers (or the 'relative extremists') who hogged the
headlines for days, making it appear as though Girija's end was near.

The newspapers never consulted the majority or the so-called "boring middle" for their views for/against Girija. There was hardly any poll of any sort.

Result?
The 'relative extremists' or the so-called 5 per centers lost out, and for better or worse, Girija won handily.

Lesson?
What we wish (based on our own biases and prejudices) to be the truth about others and what the truth about them actually is ARE two different things.

And that's a good thing.

Ashu: My suggestion is you take Vipasyana meditation more often. The more you write on sajha threads the more problems I can feel residing with your mind. You surely need to purify your mind, un-condition your mind. I know you will say whatever state your mind is at now, is the greatest gift you have. But you are running away from the truth.

By reading above postings of yours, now it is revealed how you adore to be like Girija Prasad Koirala. It's deep in your subconscious mind, but it surely will surface when you cannot control your mind to hide that disease residing deep in your mind.

Just in order to win this debate here in the thread, you keep on writing stuff, and you surely are bound to slip, and then your flaws surface from your deep mind to outer space. And that's why you have clearly, but without your own control and knowledge, written above HOW MUCH YOU LUST FOR BECOMING GIRIJA PRASAD KOIRALA.

Forget about winning this war of words... you know sometimes words can have two meanings, or more meanings, or words are simply just not enough to express the truth. Words are simply game. But you really need to understand the truth.. and for that there is a method as found by Lord Buddha. Meditation. Do more meditation... perhaps you will realize how stupid you became in sajha thread writing all these non sense words just to win verbal war.

BHOOL SOODHAR

In my posting way above, I made the mistake of saying "Nepal Telecom Authority"
when I meant Nepal Telecom.

Please read: "NT" where I wrote "NTA".

NTA is the regulatory body; while NT is a state-owned phone company, which now
has two new rivals.

***********

Thanks to a Sajha well-wisher for alerting me about this mistake.

Wow wow... Kya Analysis of Ashu by Sadabichar. I think you have identified the apex of "what's wrong with Ashu?"

Hello? Are the psychologist, Sadabichar? But your analysis is fantastic.. never thought that way by myself... You have summarized subtly Ashu.

Very funny, guys, very funny.

It's hugely entertaining to read your psychoanalysis that CONVENIENTLY
mirrors your own ill-informed prejudices.

Believe me, no reasonable person is going to be fooled by your attacks here.
And I am NOT going to be fazed at all.
Here's my Myers-Briggs profile.

An extract:

"In general, ENTPs are upbeat visionaries. They highly value knowledge, and spend much of their lives seeking a higher understanding. They live in the world of possibilities, and become excited about concepts, challenges and difficulties. When presented with a problem, they're good at improvising and quickly come up with a creative solution. Creative, clever, curious, and theoretical, ENTPs have a broad range of possibilities in their lives."

Like I said:

"What we wish (based on our own biases and prejudices) to be the truth about others
and what the truth about them actually is are two different things."

Enjoy reading about my personality type: :-)

Now can we GET BACK to Voice Over Internet Protocol ko kura-kani?

Why do lot of people (well, it seems like a lot of people, at least here at Sajha) hate Ashu?

Are the so-called Ashu bashers his yesteryear friends from Boston? Apparently, Ashu was involved in a huge scandal there, which led to his ostracization, even by some of his old high school classmates. But I am sure that's not the case.

Ashu needs to let things go. Try not to be so anal. When you are in an anonymous wiki such as this, you draw some people's ire one time or the other. So c'mon, yar, let go.

No.
Not at all.
There was NO scandal -- huge or small -- of any sort in Boston.

Else, I would NOT be the one using my own name and putting my credibility in line on
this GBNC Web site ... in a public forum like this again and again to share ideas and information, and to take part in various debates here since the year 2000.

Since you brought this up, let me say:

In Boston, as I have discussed before on Sajha, I did have falling out with two individuals:

1. Rajesh Babu Shrestha (over how he ran the GBNC then), and with

2. Shailesh Nath Gongal (someone who I encouraged and helped to get into MIT's Urban Planning program from Regional Engineering College in Durgapur, West Bengal, India.)

About Rajesh -- I wish him well.
No hard feelings now.

About Shailesh -- I can say that I am neither the first nor the last person he has backstabbed and lost as a friend. And that's the way he is -- who am I change his genetic code? Unable to deal with me face to face and unable to resolve the disagreements there and then, he did his best to turn a few impressionable classmates against me then -- and tried to paint me as everyone's enemy. But that attempt has largely backfired, for I am the one who is in touch with most of our classmates now. Shailesh is the way he was, and I wish him well.

*****

Frankly, I could care less where these attacks on Sajha are coming from these days.

I know that of the 3000-plusa unique visitors, only about two to three individuals are involved in these attacks, and that's life.

On a larger note, when and if you work in Nepal in a public setting, you guys will have to endure many false attacks and face slimey backstabbings that are going to be a lot more severe.

When was the last time you heard/read a Nepali expressing a genuine joy
in a non-relative's success?

Meantime, it's better to learn how to deal with these attacks -- and not be fazed by them.

NOW: Can we get back to Voice Over Internet Protocol (voIP) stuff?

Getting back to VoIP, I found this US government Web site quite useful.

Let's spread more awareness about VoIP, and let's find ways to connect millions more Nepalis to the phone grid. If we let things in the Nepali government's ministers' hand,
at the rate they are going, they'll start charging us tax for Yahoo and Hotmail
accounts too

Even Girija Pd. Koirala is an asshole. ha ha...

I really liked the analysis by sadabichar. This ashu is writing all nonsense to defend himself but he miserably failed. haha. He surely have problem... that I know.. although I cannot analyze as Sadabichar did.

As Girija says Mero Goru ko 16 takka, same thing Ashu is doing as well. Every time he is criticized, he never forgets to bring up those f*kinng Old Boston stuff to tarnish his own image badly. This guy is a nut.

Ashu,

I admire the fact that you went back to KTM although being a Harvard Graduate. Where people are giving big talks, you are for real. I understand why you defend your image during the personal attacks. In MBA, you learn the requirement of ethics for the professional. I cheer you for this.

Having said that, I find you taking things some what over board. You brought up the couple of names above. I have no clue who are these people. But you gotta back it up your stance with proof.

All the best in what you are doing.

Peace

First, Premdai needs to stop obsessing about Ashu. Man, your jealousy stinks!
Second, PD needs to get an education on plagiarism. Fu*king don't know what he's talking about. Even a high school kid could educate him.
Third, he needs to get a life.
Fourth, Sadabichar needs to take his own advice and chill off.
Finally, so Ashu's got an education from Harvard, GET over it!

Can anybody enlighten me how this VoIP thing works....I was always thinking of getting a site that can enable us to call(for free) normal telephone sets from a computer with an internet connection ...is there one already?
1; How does a site like that can effect the revenue of NTC?
2;How big the effect will be if it is used to its full scale in a country like Nepal?
3;Is the revenue collected by Nepal's govt. or NTC from such a programme worth comparable to the people's right to cheap, fast, and reliable information?
4;Which one is best for the country in the long term?

Definitely a professional answer is our best choice.
