I don't know why we are so full of negative attitude. kasle bhaneko chha garib deshmaa dhani pradhanmantri huna hudaina bhanera? And to be honest, why do we think he is rich? My father was an ordinary farmer, and he sold a land in our village (which was near Mahendra Highway) long ago and bought more than 1 ropani land in Kathmandu. At that time Kalanki land price were cheap, so were Koteshwar.

Furthermore, MKN actually had some good jobs. He was MP, and DPM in the past. He also get the chance to visit foreign countries frequently. NGOs pay good amount of money, so do the govt for such travels. His wife worked her ass off. (Even now, MPs normally get 50,000 per month inclusive of all facilities they get).

In Kathmandu, even people who oppose MKN say he has three good characteristics: 1. He is not corrupt 2. He doesn't drink alcohol and 3. He doesn't have women problem. He is not a good administrator, but he is not that bad either.

Syangjali,

I didn't say anything that you said. I don't know where you got that calculation anyway. All I am saying is that there are not enough evidences to say anything against MKN.

When I was in Nepal, I used to get all my food from my farm in Terai. May be MKN gets his food from Rautahat. His father was also a man of some repute and scholarship, I have heard. His brothers were all very educated.

Communist leaders also have a nasty thing about them: they get money from their ordinary workers as levy. Most of the high level leaders get money from their party.

There are some highly corrupt leaders in UML. Bamdev is one major example, but there are a lot others. MKN is not considered one of them, even Maoists or NC don't say he is corrupt. He looks like a joker at some time, he is stupid at times (like in his sell electricity using satellite), and his daughter is in AIMS India in Indian govt scholarship. But even his enemies admire him. He may not be in the same league as Manmohan or KP Bhattarai to be patriotic and noncorrupt, but he is not as bad as a lot of Maoists try to portray him as.

Mero bhannu tetti ho. sabailai khaeko bikh lagne ho, nakhaeko haina.

Before pointing fingers at others why don't we look at ourselves and see how many of us aren't morally corrupt? In a country where 99% of the people, including me, are morally corrupt, there is no point in focusing on financial corruption. Morality guides everything so if we are able to become morally clean everything else will work out.

Nepal ko Primeminister ho, cycle liyera hidnee kura ahena, lagani ta jasle ni garna  paucha ni whether he is Prime minister or President. Actaully, their investments helps for the employment of citizens whoever owns it should not matter. I dont know about MKN but businessman can be a politician and a poitician can be buisness man. It applies not only for MKN but politician and buisnessman all over the world. And dont forget Maha Kadne le Haat Chadcha Chadcha.

Bhijilante,
I disagree with communists, but I still don't see the point in criticizing MKN for his property declaration.
1. First, he is not so wealthy either. Most of the Kathmandu's Jyapu (originally considered to be poor) are probably richer than him rightnow, just to put things in perspective.
2. Even a rich man has the right to oppose pujibad (capitalism), and everyone must oppose samrajyabad (colonialism). Rich men such as Warren Buffet routinely decry the greed in capitalism. One must understand that the philosophical sphere comprises more than merely communists and capitalists. There are many others who disagree with the way capitalism works, but who are equally disdainful of communism. They are all right on their own.
3. This one I agree. But no idea where MKN comes in this.

Many district Bahuns who would eat “KATTOs” in exchange of a small piece of land and an assortment of second-hand clothes have become investor bankers in Kathmandu in very short span of time.

Many district Bahuns who would practice the “Aate-Pate” in villages and wear polister’s pants in districts, opened the political shops in Kathmandu, involved big-time in corruption and sent sons-daughters to the US, UK and Australia.

These wordsmiths have always been carrying hollow logics to protect them from all the wrong doings they committed to the Nepali people in the name of this and that.

But the fact is that MAKUNE‘s government is the most corrupt government in South Asia in the year 2010 by the gauge of an independent international observer. And, Makune is the headmaster of the government.

Pire guru, corruption comes in many forms, not only in the forms of monetary value. When a two times looser in an election held the supreme executive office (moral corruption), the corruption started right there. If Madhav Kumar Nepal was not the most corrupt politician, his government would not have been flagged as the most corrupt regime in the south asian continent. His utter power greed even in the absence of the people’s democratic mandate has even dwarfed the NC’s corruption era of the post 90s. To become and remain a prime minister unethically (2x election looser, constant political dead-lock), MAKUNE closed his both eyes for his ministers, cadres and government officials who have been blatantly engaged in corruption.

Hypothetical:

Pire guru, if your dad (the head of your household) knowingly closed his eyes to let you rob an investment bank in near Mahendra Rajmarg for the greed of money to buy a Maruti 800 cc (like Makune’s power greed) that you would get from the investment bank, don’t you think he would also be an accomplice?

Why do you gurus always present cryptic logics to make people fool ?

Lalupate Fool,
Here are a few replies to your responses:
1. First of all, I am surprised by your anti-bahun ranting which has nothing to do with the discussion. And about katto eating brahmin, how many of them do you know? There had been 12 kings in the last two hundred or so years. I know of only the man who ate katto of Dipendra and according to the media report, he didn't get anything more than a few lakh rupees. It won't even suffice him to get a kattha ghaderi near any highway, let alone be an investment banker. In any case, these are rare cases, arriving once every two decade when a king dies and a poor Brahmin decides to take the offer to degrade himself for a small sum of money. He doesn't represent any population, if you are familiar with notion of statistics.
2. Since you insist on changing topic from fiscal corruption to moral corruption, Let me switch over to moral corruption issue even though it has no relationship with the topic at hand.
Is Madhav Nepal morally corrupt for taking the job of PM? I don't know. But we know that he took the job at a difficult time. Prachanda's moral corruption--the massacre of thousands of  Nepali -- is not even comparable to anybody else's. PM Nepal lost an election that was marred by the actions of gun toting YCL and other Maoists vigilante, so big deal? Come next time, when all these issues are managed, and we will see who loses and who wins the election.
As for Transparency International, you probably didn't realise what a big fool you are to use that report against MKN. Have you read it? I just read it. Do you know when the data was taken? The report is all about events happening  before 2008. Go and read the report yourself here: http://www.transparency.org/publications/gcr/gcr_2009#dnld
This report can't be used against Madhav Nepal who became PM just a year ago.

pire goru,

According to the myrepublica.com, the TI report was queried for the year 2009 that, in conventional wisdom, started from January 2009 and ended in December 2009. For your kind information, your Sarwahara MAKUNE the lustrated (born to a schoolar) and great got into the PM post by taking a detour in May of 2009. http://myrepublica.com/portal/index.php?action=news_details&news_id=19764

From May 2009 to Decmeber 2009 (the whole 8 months), your purified MAKUNE and his well known vultures started diving into the state vault as if it were thier fathers wallets.

pire goru, EVEN it did not take "12 months" for your baptized MAKUNE and his corrupt ministers to enlist Nepal's corrupt image in the TI report. You see it ?-- your MAKUNE did the job in 8 months- why to wait till 12 months ?

Yeah, MAKUNE and his corrupt henchmen need some USEFUL IDIOTS like you who protect them at least virtually- no matter what.

You are not only a "useful idiot" but a lunatic who has even forgot that MAKUNE also contested the election in Kathamandu, the capital city where three or four NC candidates also won the seats very comfortably. You moron, how did you get the visa to study in the US ?? Forget about Ivy Leauge !

Your perspective is as corrupt as the MAKUNE's dirty and looser mind. Before lectureing people about a perspective, would you try not to be prepossessed, you useful idiot ???

Instead of Shanker Pokhrel, you should have been MAKUNE's information minister. Your puppet-giri really suits that post.

Oh, now you read myrepublica to find out the methodology for Transparency International!

I gave you a link, why don't you show it in Transparency International's site for me?

I think stupids like you know no bound. All international reports take at least one year to be compiled, you fool.

I can buy everything but not spread of hatred to man's color, race, sex, ethnicity. Every individual is different from each other, dont go by his last name. The person is complete without his lastname and ethnicity.

Pire ji , namaskar..

if i maybe curious, are you related to MKN? are you or have you ever been a member of UML?you seem to know his family, his brothers ,his father everyone. as far as i understand the propery declaration form is something these politicans sign and give away.  it does not count the money in the name of their sister, brother, sasura , sasu etc. it also does not check for accuracy. nor does it identify the money invested and deposited in foreign bank. so basically this form is a deception  for Nepali public. are you saying MKN is honest basing your judgement on the validity of the form which don't exist? or do you personally know him.. let's hear..

ps: I am not saying he's dishonest..

Dyamn,
You can trace my postings in sajha. I am not UML supporter, nor do I know MKN. But I know about his family from newspaper reports. His brothers got controversial appointments and so the news is all over. His father released a book on grammar, which was bimochaned by Madhav Ghimire the national poet,  and so he was also in the news. It may be news to you, but a lot of people have no political affiliation and alot of people defend others even when they are not their relative.

No one says MKN is an efficient ruler. But even Maoists have admitted personally that he is relatively an honest man. Hari Roka, who is now so reverred by Maoists, once told this author that he fell out with MKN because MKN told him to stop drinking alcohol. I couldn't believe but Roka admitted it, and even wrote about it in some newspaper. This kind of personal animosity is what made Prachanda angry with MKN, otherwise Prachanda himself appointed him to the position of MP.

Finally, until we know for sure his relatives own shitload of money, I am not in a business to spread rumor. There are other corrupt politicians in Nepal and by pursuing a wrong man, we serve no purpose. When I looked at his property, it didn't give me any reason to think he was a corrupt man or that he earned his property after  becoming PM. His wife used to work in a bank even when he was DPM long ago, and they lived relatively modest life. So, why not we find out fault in his policies and criticize them, rather than personally hounding him for what is surely a nonreason?

The good thing about makune is he is not resigning for the threat of maoists.

At present i dont see anybody better than makune in nepali politics to run the govt.

It looks like i am more rich than the PM of Nepal. :-)

Pire, the self-declared Master of the Universe has been acting arrogant as a bhenda (SHEEP) and making rules for himself by saying TI takes one year (12 months) "only" to prepare a Global Corruption Report (GCR)of a Country ha..ha..ha..ha.

It is 21st century of the Hafnium based processors that can hold billions of transistors within so information is processed very sprintedly and is travelled in the optical fiber network, my dear. You can still fool sidha-sadha nepali around Mahendra Rajmarg with that kind of corrupt and "pangre" information.

Master of Universe, could you show the public where in the TI site it is stipulated that the raw data for the report was for the year 2008 ??

According to this source of wikipedia, TI publishes the annual GCR covering the time span from July to June. That simply infers that the recent GCR of Nepal as the most corrupt South Asian contry published by TI in June 11 2010 is for the year cycle of 2009 July to 2010 June- not for the year 2008 as you knowingly and corruptly claimed. Your behavior is also a kind of corruption that you tried your best to misrepresent the fact to the general public in this fourm like most of the corrupt politicians do in Nepal. And, remember your great MAKUNE the looser and corrupt rode the horse in Sigh Darbar in May of 2009. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Corruption_Report

According to nepali media reports, even the MAKUNE has acknowledged the fact of the GCR as the latest happening of his governing state. But, Bajrang-bali HANUMANs are desperately trying to polish the boots of the corrupt Makune and his ministers.

The self declared master of universe? now you come to patent falsehood. Where did I declare I am a master of universe? kasto laj nabhaeko maobadijasto manchhe.

I believe you are a moron. You keep on changing topic. You are full of raw, reptilian anger, and you have no idea what it means to do a research. It is different from calculation which can be done fast. To do a research, you need to collect data, develop methodology, analyse ... things that are different from looking at calculator for an answer.

I gave you a link from the report. I read it and I saw no reference to MKN era. Show me and I will agree to what you say. Don't tell me about what some Nepali media said. Let's talk about TI report itself.
