I don't know about you guys but when I see average Nepali men in the United States in their 30s and up, they look too old for their age. Its probably a combination of bad eating habits, being lazy, watching too much TV and not working out or something. There are some who are fit, but I am talking in general. I think when Nepali men get married, have decent jobs and have kids, they just give up what they look like and start adding pounds and inches to their waistline. Do you guys care about how you look and do something not to look too old for your age?

I understand guys that everyone like to look good and young, but you got to do something to retain that:
-are you watching what you eat?
-physical activities?
-yoga etc.?

Just putting gel in your hair, expensive cologne and clothes is not enough to keep you good looking and young forever. Its gotto come from inside. I think majority of Nepali's weakness is food. Lots of oil, butter to make it taste better (female's secret to keep their husband happy).
I don't know but we are going to have a generation of immigrant Nepali's with several health problems if they don't watch out.

I am not a doctor or medical expert, but I think its a very good idea to check your good and bad cholestrol (HDL, LDL), triglycerids levels once a year at least. It doesn't cost more than a couple hundred $ but you'll know what risks you have. If nothing else, these numbers will be enough to keep you in shape and good eating habit.

Man, im not even 30, and i don't care how i really look or dress up. I am soo outta shape. last week, my friends wanted me to play football. I played and after a while, my head was spinning, nauseated, and almost threw up. And there was this white girl playin, she went throughout the whole game. hehe, i was embarrassed, but oh well, i couldn't go on. I loved gettin tackled by the girl though!:p
and if you see me, i barely put gel on my hair or comb it. I get outta shower, put clothes on and walk out. eat whatever, whenever, man, i need to get back in shape! in highschool i used to run a mile 3 times a week! atleast that was better than nothing! :(

Bedrock,
Is looks really that important? I can understand that the health is, but you may not want to look fat or old but there are people who could give rat's ass on that and give higher importance to other things.

Looks not that important. You either have it or you don't. Of course, having a good look helps. But what's more important is health. People who don't give a rats ass about health now will give their own ass as they age. Their other important things doesn't save them from a stroke if they don't watch out. And as always keeping yourself clean and tidy doesn't make people run away from you.

It's a good topic Bedrock. Many men AND women live a less active life after getting married and/or after a certain age. Being mindful about health, lifestyle and food habits goes a long way in preserving your sanity in these stressful times! :)

Sitara- I know you do yoga. Could you please enlighten us a little bit on the benefits of yoga and your personal experience doing yoga. I know you need a lot of patience to do it, also be able to stay focus while remaining calm at the same time.

Balancing your diet and exercising make you different in look.

It's good to eat more often, but aware of getting junki food cuz that make you faggy. balance your diet, and always check nutrition facts or at least calories before eating: If you could you could manage as:- in breakfast, oatmeal with 2% fat milk, a banana, and an egg with pancake- syrup (don't do all you can eat); in lunch - chicken stuffs, rice or roti, fish, and salad ingredients (need little heavy); in dinner- light but no burger, mas-potato, rice, roti, chicken, spagedi, pizza or kinda your low fat Nepalese cuisine including lots of veggie stuffs; and don't forget to add fruits and juice at all. And, do exercise regularly (at least do upto 60 minute 3 times a week). Let's see who will complain to Neprican
