Hillary Clinton appeared on NBC’s Meet The Press on Sunday morning, and spent some time railing against her rival, Bernie Sanders, for his misrepresenting her record on fossil fuels. Clinton also said she feels “sorry” for the Sanders supporters who believe the lies.

On Wednesday, Clinton was confronted by a Greenpeace activist about receiving donations from the fossil fuel industry, Clinton famously said, “I am so sick of the Sanders campaign lying about me!”

The Washington Post‘s fact-check concluded that Clinton and the Super PAC supporting her received money from lobbyists tied to that industry…the Super PAC received $3.25 million…but said that the claims from Team Sanders are “exaggerated” and awarded them 3 “Pinocchios”. On CNN this morning, Sanders defended the attacks and said it’s not “distorting reality” to point out that lobbyists for that industry are giving as much as they can to help his opponent and trying to bundle more.

When host Chuck Todd asked about the attacks, Clinton said, “When people make these kinds of claims, which now I think have been debunked –Actually the Washington Post said “Three Pinocchios”– and the New York Times analyzed it. Independent analysts have said that they are misrepresenting my record. I’m just not going to…I feel sorry sometimes for the young people who believe this, they don’t do their own research. I’m glad we can now point to reliable, independent analysis to say: No. It is just not true.”
