Thank you Siva Prakash for this article. This is the kind of research oriented article that we need to give light to issues that have been plaguing Nepal.

पुनर्स्थापनाको काम सरकारले मात्र गर्न सक्छ तर सबैको सहभागिता आवश्यक छ। सरकारलाई मियो र टेक्ने लौरो बनाउनु पर्छ।

I take offense at the ambassador's views.
The Nepali ambassador for USA dr Arjun karki says that only government should do the reconstruction and others should help it (He specially says by giving money).

We have already seen, dear ambassador that currently those in power in Nepal are only interested in helping themselves and their ase pase. Did you not see the photo that have been circulated with the 601s taking tents meant for those whose house had collapsed and are living out in the open.

In your interview you say some people helped once and took 10 photos. At least they helped, right? They filled a vacuum that government had left due to its incompetence.

Let us even forget about the last 15 years after the establishment of Loktantra. Let me first ask you. What have you and government which you are part of done so far?? For the first 4 days after the disaster we didn't hear anything from the government. Then we started hearing that government doesn't need any more help from friendly countries who were sending relief to Nepal. There was total mismanagement at the airport. Now we are still hearing about relief material which are rotten and rotting in warehouses.

We do not believe that government can do the reconstruction fairly. Because in every task it does, there are Netas who like to get a portion for themselves and their goot. The actual people in need do not get them. If you agree to this then why not allow individuals and donors to choose how and where they want to help. After all you are taking their money. अरु को पैसा मा गिद्धे दृस्टी लगाउनु ठिक हैन | The government should help these donors and not expect it the other way around.

Dr. Arjun ji, I don't know if you are aware. In today's world Government should include the people. Not just at election time but in every day decisions. Governments should gather people's voices and act accordingly. Not act like king of shorts and impose their opinion and views on people through a position of power. You want to create one more ministry to put one more party's neta? then call for people meeting where they can voice and government should do accordingly. People are conscious now and are not merely meek spectators. We have a voice. Right now you do not even have the mandate to be speaking for the people of Nepal. Loktantra ma people ma power hunu parcha Neta ra sarkar ma haina.
