Thanx for reviving the thread.

After going through this thread, I started reading few essays and writings of Shankar Lamichane. I was mesmerized by his "sandarva laxmi jayanti". Thanx to the poster who posted that link :). Having never heard much of him before, he not only did justice to his legacy, but he makes me realize Laxmi prasad devkota is simply at a different level (like how shakespeare is to English). It is hard to believe that Laxmi Prasad Devkota needed to plagiarize, for a person who was able two dictate 12 stories in one night each with a different plot and twists. As GT says, he was a voracious reader of english literature as well. He might have been trying to translate it in Nepali in his own way.

I also got a copy of Sirish ko Phool. While I haven't finished it, it is amazing how the female writer writes from the male-soldier's perspective. simply amazing so far!
