The facility to edit a posting initiates a potential to simply invalidate the rest of the feedbacks from others following the one being edited.

Even with the edit feature removed, one could simply make up for the edition by quickly adding an amendment as a separate posting at the end of the thread. Most of the blogs I have seen operate that way.
