Sid, i hear you my friend. i agree that maradona may or may not come to the league where Pele belongs to. but zico and platini??? c'mon man, you said you are an argentinian fan, now don't be so cruel on yourself. for me, Pele and maradona belongs to a class where no one can even imagine to be a part of. Franz Backenbeur, Zidane, Zico et. al. are all greatest players of the game but they don't belong to the coterie where Pele and Maradona belong. I am against the act that Zidane did yesterday. if he had went on to win the cup for his team, he would have been a greater hero. but then don;t forget the fact that France started the tournament as an underdog (kinda). no one hoped that they will/can beat Spain in the second round. it was Zidane's comeback helped by Henry's good play, that managed france to beat Spain, Brazil and Portugal and come to the final. France would have long gone out of the tournament if Zidane was not there. so an act like what he did yesterday, albeit will bring some controversy and will jeopardize his image of a TRUE SPORTSMAN , but it will not destroy what he achieved as a footballer. he will remain a great hero for france and the rest of the world, probably in the coterie of Backenbeur of Germany.
