Well, if you are in a final year of a PhD program in a field such as Chemistry and give talks in major conferences such as PittCon, they will approach you. First comes the casual conversation with an HR and the hiring manager. If they like you, they will ask you to join them for a dinner with other team members. Then, if you make the cut, you get invited to their company HQ at Kenilworth, NJ (R&D is moving to Summit, NJ later this year) for a day long interviews with various team leads, directors and senior scientists. If they approve of you unanimously, you get the offer in about two weeks. Not much of an advice, is it? Sorry if the posting sounded smug. Good luck!
