As far I know about history of Kashmir: Historically, Kashmir is a Hindu Kingdom. But Muslim came from Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan can invade to Hindu Kingdom of Kashmir. Many Hindus people died, some escaped and entered Nepal. Muslim destroyed a Hindu palace and temples as well as anything about Hinduism. Then, Hindus whoever stayed in Kashmir some of them converted into Muslim religion for their survival and reorganization as good citizen under Muslim King. Rest fundamental Hindu people live under Muslim curl pressure and domination. So 20th century, Hindu Revolutionary pop up with Indian support and fight with Muslim people. And Pakistan also backed to Muslim of Kashmir. Kashmir problem is not about India and Pakistan, it is about fight between Hindu and Muslim. Chhetries, Kami, Damai and Sunuwar might be the tribes or people of Kashmir immigrants who entered into Nepal. But history is not clear that much.
