Thinking Impartially and sensibly

Dear Isolated freak, Yes, let's agree to disagree. But we can continue our debate, can't we? I am not an academic as you are. But still I am learning something from what you post, in every threads and therefore I try to invoke and provoke you. As a student of politics , you certainly know about Magnacarta, French Revolution, American independence, Bolshevik revolution, Ahimsha and stuffs. 'Magnacarta' was meant for other readers. You know more then me what democracy and freedom means(because I never studied Politics). The only thing I don't understand is why you continue to think that peace and security can only be maintained by suppressing the ideas and opinions of the unarmed people. Why do you think that despots with the help of military can maintain peace and security, and that is all what our people deserve for their life. Peace in exchange of shutting up your mouth every time, even if you don't like what's been done to you by your captors(the army in our case). You know, there is peace-total silence when people are kept hostage by terrorist kidnappers, there is peace when a man is going to be hanged, there's peace before animals are sacrificed in front of a temple, there was peace in the concentration camps before the Nazis released poisons to kill the jews. Peace can be maintained by guns. So you want to keep our country peaceful by keeping guns at pointblank days and night years and years? You want to maintain the status quo. Because you don't want others to be conscious about their rights. If they are conscious then they are equal to you, they try to compete with you, they try to out class you. Why let others be conscious, only limited kathmanduties need to exercise liberties. Only who praise the King should get the oppurtunities. For others, there is peace and that is what they are born for. Let them continue doing what they have been doing for years. Let the riches remain rich and let the poors remain poor, for they are assured of peace and security by their despots. This is the best thing in your view, isn't it? You say media should be banned if it is an obstacle for the security forces to maintain peace. You say Yubraj Ghimire's and Kunda Dixit's pen and paper shoul be seized and burnt down because they write something to let others read. You say only Radio Nepal and Nepal televison should transmit news because the people need to hear all about King Gyanendra and the royal Nepal army. Gorakhapatra should be published but Kantipur and Himal should be banned. Because ''they write their anta-santa (Neither head nor tail) pieces in newspapers to mislead the people( and I thank the King for that).' ' What a shame is this? You live in a democracy and advocate despotism. Probably you think Gyanendra is going to impart benevolent despotism to his 'pyara deshbasi'. Your ideas make me pursuade that you don't want others to be as learned and educated as you are (sorry about this mate). I figure out you have lived either in Kathmandu or in a western city for all your life and never have spent few days outside Kathmandu. For people like you, Kathmandu is Nepal. If Gyanedra's army can silent the public in Kathmandu, that's enough for you. The potter can continue his work in the bus park, vendors can sell their stuffs in Ratna park and you can seat in a wheel chair and sign papers in your office peacefully. Children will carry on their parents profession peacefully. Thats enough for you, because there is peace and you are on a cosy chair. For the last week or so, there is lull in violence. At least in Kathmandu. And thats why Kathmandu is very happy. But a friend of mine told me in telephone that he feels like he is inside a drum, suffocated. But slowly and slowly he has learned to live in suffocation. Like if you bring a frog from pond in the jungle and put it in a ditch near your home, it will learn to live in there. Your definition of peace is just the same. Kathmandu is jubiliant in peace. Half of the military is deployed in there to provide security to your family, to prevent bomb explosions. ( I never heard so many bombs being exploded in Kathmandu for the last ten year as you have said though). But think about Pyuthan, Rukum, taplejung, solukhumbu. When there is no independent reporting of the clashes between security forces and the maoists, how can you say that civilians are being killed. Will your radio Nepal say or Gorkhapatra write anything about that? You don't care, do you? Because you have peace in Kathmandu. Mr IF, if you were a peace monger, you wouldn't support Gyanendra's attempt to crush his opposition. You would advocate for dialogue. You would pursuade Gyanendra to let the Maoists talk on their demand of 'constituent assembly'. Why can't contitutional assembly be a subject of dialogue? Congress and UML and RPP have agreed on that demand, why palace didn't? If a new constitution can bring Maoists in mainsteam, why can't Gyanendra say yes to their demand. There is public to decide his role. If the public says, authorisation of the government force should be allowed by the parliament, why does he need to be Param Senadhipati? I bet you, your King can restore peace in the country but in Kathmandu in these three years. And you will be grateful to your king, because your family live in there. I also read this poem many a times. First They Came for the Jews First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me. Pastor Martin Niem?ller You imply this to maoists, I imply this to Gyanendra's army. I don't need to say which side has more arms and ammunitions. Which sides are the probable NAZIS? No offence pls Isolated Freak
