HULU SELANGOR: A NEPALI national was killed after his friend kicked him on the chest with a steel-tipped shoe when he tried to stop a fight between the assailant and two other Nepalis.
The 8.30pm incident happened in front of a tyre and alloy rim factory workers' hostel at Seri Teluki Apartment in Hulu Selangor.
District deputy police chief Deputy Superintendent Zulkifli Bedin said the victim, factory worker Patee Ram Radh in his 30s, was believed to have suffered internal injuries and died on the way to a clinic.
Patee had stopped a fight between two of his countrymen on a factory bus when he was later attacked by one of them.
Police have arrested three of the victim's friends.
The case has been classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
In an unrelated case, an Indonesian vegetable farmhand ran and sought help from the occupants of a house about 1.5km away despite bleeding from a slash wound on her neck.
The occupants called an ambulance, which took the 31-year old Indonesian woman, who was attacked about 8.30pm on Sunday, to Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital.
Zulkifli said the woman, who worked in a vegetable farm in Kampung Padang, Ulu Yam, here, had since been referred to Kuala Lumpur Hospital as she needed to undergo surgery.
The victim, who had no identification documents, underwent an operation involving the reconnection of her neck's main blood vessel that was severed in the attack.

In Kuantan, a misunderstanding resulted in a steamboat trader ending up in critical condition after being slashed with a samurai sword by a group of men yesterday morning.
Kuantan deputy police chief Superintendent Aziz Ahmad said the incident occurred in front of an entertainment outlet in Jalan Teluk Sisek at 4.40am.
"The 26-year-old trader was slashed on the right hand and hip. The injuries are very serious but the man is in stable condition."
Aziz said one of the suspects had wrongly accused the victim of beating up his brother on Sunday, when the latter had actually tried to stop the fight.
