Namaste, Currently I am living here on F1+TPS. And, I am working as an IT professional since past 2 years in a small local company. Now, I am graduating in a month; but, I am kinda confused as I don't have much ideas on how things work further. I mean, if I switch to OPT, my EAD will probably get changed to OPT-EAD; on the other hand, if I choose to stay on TPS only, then I will be out of status. Now, can I apply for H1B from TPS-EAD as well? I heard that there is a higher chance to get jobs at intermediate positions if we apply through other EADs than OPT. Is this true? Additionally, the company I am currently working at, has no more full-time job as they have no newer projects. They are just keeping me here because I had helped them in an important phase 2 years ago. In other words, I have to leave this company asap. Dhandyabaad in advance !

The chances of getting job as you said its the same for TPS EAD or OPT EAD. Both of them are temporary EAD as per the company point of view. If you happened to be GC-EAD or GC then wallahhh, you would not be needing the 3rd party vendor for sure. Even a little Software Development knowledge would land you in Entry Level position if you can Speak. Now coming back to you question - I would recommend you to be in OPT if you are from STEM background. which will give you 1 year of regular OPT and 2 additional year after a year. Total you will have 3 years of EAD. But TPS, with ongoing condition not sure whether it will be extended. But i would say be in OPT dont leave you f1 status. But at the meanwhile if TPS gets extended be in TPS status as well along apply for TPS EAD. But use your OPT EAD to apply for work after you graduate. Do not use TPS EAD.
