I am in an electronics course right now but this question looks like a combination of my probability and linear algebra classes. And I sucked at Linear algebra. Don't know how i got a B+.

Hey is this from Proakis Digicom book? If so, you can buy a solution manual online for that on half.com or amazon.com. I'm pretty sure I've done one of these problems before but it's been a while. Try typing the question in google and see if the solution comes up.

Oh forgot to mention that you can get the solution manual instantly in pdf format. And also when googling, you can try say proakis chapter 2 homework problems or something like that.

Sorry, couldn't help you much. Try finding your desi or chinese classmates see if they've solved the problem. Also it might be helpful to read Popoulis's book Probability, Random Variables and stochastic process if you haven't done so.

hajur le,

http://www.gseis.ucla.edu/courses/ed231a1/notes2/can1.html

ma padhnus. It tells you how to get the cannonical derivation plus deriving values for diagonal SIGMA.

hope this helps.

so can i assume that you have already found the values for

Rzz= Rxx Rxy
Ryx Ryy

Transpose martrix for X and Y.

solve for the eigen values.

when you substitute the matrix in the eigen value equation you can verify the [1 0 ; 0 1] matrix.

hope this helps

Here are four links that contains solution to Stark and Woods exercise problems. A friend of mine sent these links to me when I took Random Signals class. That problem looks very similar to some problems in Stark and Woods. If this book is not your text book, look in it. It might be from one of the example of that book. If that's your text book, you should be able to find the solution in one of these links.
