The sheer range of professional sport in London is staggering. Football, rugby union, rugby league, boxing, jump racing, flat racing, golf, tennis, athletics, cricket, snooker and darts.

Then there is greyhound racing, field hockey, ice hockey, basketball, baseball and softball, American football, speedway, cycling, rowing, swimming, table tennis and squash.

i've never been to america... i'd definitely like to go there sometime in the future..
and i really like london .. just came back from there yesterday to my home in the midlands.
for a quite a lot of things i'd have to agree with bidhan bro but about that world renouned transport part.. that is absolute crap.. i think public transport in london is good but too expensive.. and if i could i would beat the shit out of every single one of them bus drivers.. from what i have heard (suneko bharma) from ppl who have been to places like korea, hong kong and japan.. the busses and trains in london are overrated, expensive and unreliable..

Dude, you are telling me that you took those city rankings from a newspaper..okay that is fine...

But the way you are explaining here sounds as if you are sharing your personal experince after living a life in all those cities around the world.

Every city has it's own identity, style and vibe. Cities can be compared about particular aspects lets say public trasportaion or weather etc but it will be awefully absurd to compare citites in every aspect.

lets say both Salt Lake City, Utah and San Diego, Claifornia are great cities but it will absurd to campare these two cities and tell that San Diego is a better city just because you happen to be a sea-surfer not a mountaineer. Similarly it will be absurd to tell that Salt Lake City is a better city just because you happen to be a mountaineer and not a sea-surfer.

But still i have read in the newspaper that new york and london are the most compared city in the world as these are considered because of being economic capitals of the world . i dont think any american city can be compared with london as that may not withstand londons economy

People who have been to europe, england and america has said that transport in some european cities are considred the best particularly country like switzerland and scandinavia.but still london is considered as best and overrated. but still best is the general verdict.

If you are taliking about economy...well, if the state of California were given a status of an independent country, California alone will become the fouth (4th) richest country in this world.

Even after excluding California the United States will still be no 1 with Japan at the 2nd place, Germany in the 3rd and California in the 4th place.

but i have not been stubborn . i know london is behind several cities and i have easily accepted it time and time agian in my thread.but some of the american friends would never accept there are better cities in the world. take an example of montreal. do you know in montreal almost each house is connected to underground you can to to shoppping and u dont even have to come outside. i have accepted better cities with better quality of amenities in my thread many times.

only american city that is comparable with london in terms of economy and facility is newyork. world knows it.
