Song sounds good, there is nothing wrong in this song. Nepalese started to listen the song politically, what a pity situation is there. Instead of that lyrics, if she should have said " Maobadi sanga poila jana pam" then it would have been super hit, that's what they want to hear. This is creative, realistic and with good vocal. Komal Oli, keep on singing and releasing such creative songs, there are good audiences for you who are not political pets. I didn't know that she was suporter of King, Girija is also supporter of King, what the hell Nepalese are supporting him then. Why do they want to ruin the music career of Komal Oli, when do those guys eye everything globally, shame on those who offend this song............

I see no reason to view the song as disturbing. It is about the women who have been living in their parent's house.
"kati basnu maitigharma..."something like that is there right?
So, listen to the lyrics first. Even if she sang a song saying that she wants a new husband, what is wrong? If you aren't content with the present one, then you should seek another. Sick Nepalese mentality wants women to be within their domain while they flirt around in the bars.
Grow up and give women a chance to choose just like you.

Kudos to Komal for her song. Much better than what you used to sing in the past.

Hey....

Teej must celebrate and to pray God Shiva by woman.

The importance is that God Shiva refers a creator of earth and life. He who created human in earth.

So Woman pray Shiva to fulfill their family life and prosperous. Some pray to request Shiva to provide Son.

But what happen in this song and dancing Nepalese woman?

She sang that she pray God Shiva for escape with second man which we call in Nepali “Paila janu”….

What is happening to our Bahuns and Chettris did bahinis?

I don't think she's saying she wants to elope with a "second man"... In the song, she mentions how she would love to put "sindoor" and wear "pote" like other women... Which means she's not married... And even if she is asking for another husband, big deal???? She can ask for all that she wants as long as that wish of hers promises happiness and contentment... It's her(a woman's) day afterall!!!!!
C'mon guys it's just a fun song... If you can complain about your husband and how badly his family treats you in a teej ko song, why cannot you sing about how much you wanna get married??? I don't see no reason why one would be offended by such a harmless song...
Kudos to Komal Oli for daring to sing a song like this....

The song is good, vocal and music are appealing.

The performers do not show any gesture of impropriety. It is very humane, and I should say, a polished product.

I would recommend it for a family time show. It is much more cultured and genteel compared to what we see on Nepali and Hindi TV channel commercials.

It is courteous.

It is completely devoid of vulgarity -- should not offend anyone.

Cerine,

The song has been stamped "controversial" on the basis of "POILA JANA PAM". Although I am not nepali major, what I was taught is "POILA" means "eloping away with someone else leaving your husband" (it will be more clear if someone refers to Nepali Brihat Sabdakosh for the exact meaning). In nepali context, "eloping away with someone else leaving your husband" is still considered shameless act although it's more related to personal choice. If the wife is not happy with her husband for some reason, she has the full right to choose another partner.

And, it doesn't seem Komal literally means "POILA -eloping away with someone else leaving your husband" in this song. After listening the song carefully, I reached to the conclusion that she praying lord shiva to get married this year. Sentences like "sadhai maiti ghar ma basne malai man chaina" , "poi paiyos vanera japchu timro nam", "rahar sarai malai sindur pote launa lai, poi ko hat samatera maiti ghar aauna lai" , "sarai ramro poi paros college ma padheko" make her interntion clear (no way, she means the second man).

It's a fun song and there is no need to make a big fuss about it.

Would not have been much "controversial" if the song has been sung about men saying they would love to get married for the fifth time!

Women have always been looked through microscope and speculated all the time, I believe!
