I mean a bloodless coup where the army suddenly takes power by arresting all these a$$hole maobaadis and calls for a new leadership. someway in a situation similar to the coup by General Sonthi in Thailand or Mussharaf of pakistan.

Im sure a lot of Nepali's on the same day of the coup will be very much happy and so they will do a diwali by lighting diwaas on the streets.

cause each and every day nepal is getting worse and worse..this will also help solve the economy after this maoist backed unions will dissappear and so a lot of the closed down factories will start running again.. moreover the Terai separatists (MJF, TMLP) will immediately surrender after they find out that they will be gunned on sight by the patriotic Nepal army. the border/rivers of nepal will be secured because they will not sell these to india like the maobadies and girija...

did u read the advantages of coup in nepal i mentioned? or are you a typical ignorant maobadi support? how can a coup be a severe setback in nepal when it is already a $hit hole country..there can only be an upside of this when right down nepal is at ground zero, ..(this is in contrast with the thai case u gave)

Coup sounds good. But who's controlling the military? Some other corrupt politician hand-in-glove with the rest of them then no good. Plus...discussing a coup on such a public scale might hamper its effectiveness.

Wasn't Gayandra's rule an Army coupe? he was the head of the army. Not only him late king Birendra was the head of the army too. They all tried controling the maobadis and rebels against Nepali interest but they did not succeed. so the idea is not new in Nepali context. It was tried before and did not work. India would not allow any major change in Nepal, and if anyway it occurs , it's hanumans like girija will ruin it and bring it down to the dust.

Nepali politicians are selfish. and politicians come out of general public. So general public is also selfish and not patrotic.  we need to be patrotic and see positive changes in Nepal. and unless we change our mentality of showing off, jelousy and treaing less fortunate like slaves we will never get out of this circle of bad politics and corruptions.

Dymn..X king  was a head of army not coup leader  get ur stat straight..n YCL is not a policing body n they acting as one..ones they integrate there cadres with national army..there will be big rift among army which could cause even bigger damage.most of the cadres arent' qualified or competent enough to lead nepali army n they will become colonel ..n all..n will the lieutienant (current NA) who fought against maoist terror risking their life..got family n relo got killed by this terror group will like follow there order NO

Khwasa and MN Nepali Ji, I do appreciate you guys thinking good for Nepal, but you guys also know that's not gonna help anyway. Autocracy cannot be alternative to Democracy. It's not who's on the top, it's also who's on the bottom. How responsible have Nepali peoples have been choosing leaders? We once supported Old government, then we even supported King once and at the begining peoples even supported Maoist, who won by such a lots of votes. There is no gurantee that everything gonna be better if Nepal Army gets control of everything. Furthur, if one gets supreme power sooner or later that person will become corrupt. In democracy peoples have option to choose, so when people really gets tired they can throw leaders. How easy was it to throw old parties from power because of Election when Maoist won, then to throw King. So brothers I think we can't look for such ridiculous options. In addition to that, NA is not free from corruption. Power is in hand of certain group of peoples, like thapas...., so that's not an good idea.

I will support conditional Army coup, I mean, the following conditions are fulfilled: (Hypothetical .... and have fun). Did Babu Ram Bhattarai fulfilled any of those 40+ demands? India sanga ko treaty ma kehi change aayo ta?

2. Makune become PM

3. Prachanda gets jail or killed.

4. MPRF gets DPM and Foreign Ministry Portfolio.

5. NC can be neglected. NC lost legitimacy in Terai.

6. Give one ministry to each JanaJati Forums associated with Maoists. Isolate Prachanda-Bahun's Bahun based Maoists.

7. Capture or kill YCLs. Kill at least 1000 YCLs just the way Indira Gandhi killed 1000 naxalites.

At the current rate of development so far, a coup within the Maoist party has a higher chance of coming about than a coup staged by the Army...The Army are just sitting clay-ducks waiting to be chucked so some big-wig politician could just take a shot at them and break em into smithereens. 

Whatever be the case, we are heading staight from 'smoke into smother or from the frying pan into the fire.'  And its high time, all hopes for any betterment by the self-interest filled politicians/army ranks be abandoned by us all who have at least an ounce of gray matter up in our noggins.

i think army coup will not be the best idea ...at first it might sound like well cool at least peace can be guranteed but in the long long...i bet it won't work.. ...my suggestion to all you concerned is let's see some more moves of this players ..i bet all our leaders are ....not educated enough about what is politics , what is nationality, what is rights ,what is duty, what is lawand what is order, and what is sovernigity..? we should not have to do anything niether Nepalese Army niether King Ganendra ...see the earth is moving and days and nights are guranteed ,,,,...i bet this government will fall by their own mistakes...
