There was at least one early connecting flight to the US than the one you booked. They stopped giving travelers courtesy accommodation to prevent travelers from deliberately selecting a longer layover at Doha over a short one in order to get the free hotel/lodging services. That's what they told me when I had a 10 hour layover and requested for those services.
