Santosh Ji,
I have read that before. So in case of denial, there is no grace period which is correct and there are no mention of days as well. You can check USCIS websites too. That is why keep all documents and other things that can prove that all efforts were made to leave the United States as soon as possible. I never said that there are no consequences. It is still in the discretion of POE authority to let you enter for 2nd time or US consulate for future extensions. That is where your documents come into play showing you made efforts to leave as soon as possible.
No one can leave on the same day of denial notice in mail. You have to prove that "all possible efforts were made to leave US as soon as possible". This is the key.
Even in your link, it states 30 day grace period, But I don't think USCIS has anything mentioned about no of days. At least not few years back.
Chances of denial for 1st extension is very minimal.
