One of my favourite directors, Oliver Stone, who made great movies like "Platoon", "Born on the Fourth of July", "The Doors", "JFK" comes up with a movie based on the life of Alexander The great. Millions of dollars spent on the movie, top starcast, three hours runtime, thousands of extras -- is it worth $10? Has anyone watched it yet? I have... eh... phew, whattta drag for 3 hours. Half the movie, the director tries to prove that Alexander was a homosexual (not bisexual). But he can't say it upfront coz he is shy about it. Insted he creates situation after situation just to prove his point that Alexander was a homosexual... eh. When Alexander finally marries Roxanne, director lables it as "mysterious marriage"... and later he mentions Alexander married couple of more times and keeps mum about his sexuality. harey... The movie should have been named "How Oliver Proved that Alexander was a homosexual". Oliver wants to be as bold as Alexander and yet he is so shy about it. If you are so shy about it, DON'T TALK ABOUT IT. The movie would have been great if the director focused more on Alexander than his sexuality. Bisexuality/homosexuality might be a taboo in today's world, but was it like this 2000 years ago in the GREEK LAND? Alexander's "best friend", who was the warrior, looks so girlish... eh... with long hair and make up... lol... and so delicate that you won't believe him fighting on the battleground. Was he that delicate? History says he was a great warrior and was handsomer than Alexander, but was he that girlish? Alexander marries Roxanne. In the first night of their marriage, Roxanne hears Alexander expressing his love to his best friend... hehe... and Roxanne FREAKS out... Hey, that sounds more like the situation from today's world. hehe... Wife finds about her husband's mistress and she freaks out... eh. Sounds more like a scene extracted from some Soap. The movie keeps on mentioning that Alexander was bold, but he didn't look that bold in the movie... Insted, apart from conquering half a world, he looked so fragile, emotional, and he cries thru out the movie... hehe... Heard he was angry and bold... lol. The worst part of the movie, the director focuses on the scenes that don't make sense more than the scenes that are relevant to the story.. hehe... Colin Ferral lacks the screen presence. aaahhhh... He shouldn't do period movies. Imagine Russell Crowe in "Gladiator" and even Brad Pitt in "Troy". eh... They looked like a great warrior... Colin looks more like an ordinary guy who doesn't impress you much... They showed India and they didn't show Indian classical dance??? how is that possible?? LOL... There was not even a single Indian Musical piece in the movie... I wan my 5 dollars back... lol... the other 5 bucks was worth watching Roxanne naked... :) Katti lekhi chu, jpt... Should have rather studied. eh. Photo pani tasdim... (My fav scene from the movie... yayaya)
