Thesedays there are lot of fraud cases so it is important to take some preventative measures to reduce the chances of being defrauded.
Ask them to befriend you in facebook. Make sure their profile looks genuine and they have at least 50 friends! It's better if you have friends in common. Make sure to copy their profile pictures and their user links in case there is some issue later.
Make sure you get their phone number in case something goes wrong you have their phone numbers to give to authorities.
Just follow common sense logic and don't fall victim.
