KOL Report KATHMANDU, Nov 11 - The country will soon experience an authoritarian government, if the current government fails to bring the Maoists to the negotiating table, Minister for Information and Communication Mohamad Mohsin said. Speaking during a meeting with senior editors and publishers at his office in Singh Durbar on Wednesday Mohsin said, ? The alternative to this government will be one you people can?t bear with.? Mohasin, who is also the King?s representative in the coalition government diplomatically hinted that present adverse situation to hold elections and heedless stance taken by the Maoists for peace talks are paving the way for an authoritarian system in the country soon. ? The authoritarian system may be explained as one with the King usurping absolute executive powers and seizing certain fundamental rights of the people, where military would play an influential role? said Mohsin. The authoritarian system if it comes is not the fault of anyone but the Maoists, he said adding, ? They came to the negotiating table with Chand government, and then with Thapa government, but it?s a mystery, why they are refusing to talk to a government that commands the mandate of over 75 per cent members of the parliament.?
