Yes very very stupid of me to wait this long. I was just not comfortable with sending my original passport with other immigration crap going on too.
Finally got to talk to Nepal Embassy today after trying for days. They said I can get the travel document with a week. I can go to Nepal with this travel document, and apply for the new passport in Nepal. I will try that.
