hurray, you are absolutely right and i think many americans do realize this. particularly the ones who voted for kerry. but bush and his supporters fail to realize every move this country makes affects every other country in the world. or if they do realize it, it's even worse, because then they just don't care. many of bush's supporters live in "the heartland" of rural, middle america. they are far removed from international metropolises like nyc, la, boston, seattle, etc. and because of this, they have a very limited world view. it's time democrats learned how to appeal to the masses in the middle again. i have seen polls, and i know they aren't always accurate, but polls showing if citizens of other countries were able to vote in the us election, kerry would have won with 80% of the votes!
