Identity of Nepali hostage established The Nepali citizen, taken hostage along with five other people in Baghdad by a group of Iraqi insurgents on Monday, has been confirmed as Yunus Kabadi, a resident of southern district of Dhanusha, the Foreign Ministry said. Spokesman of the ministry, Durga P Bhattarai said Wednesday afternoon that Kabadi, a resident of Rupaida of Devpur VDC-5 in Dhanusha, was working as a security guard with the Saudi Arabia Trading and Contracting Company for the last five years. He had been sent to Iraq sometime back, he said. Bhattarai said the government had initiated 'diplomatic efforts' to ensure the safe release of Kabadi. The government has already appealed to the international community, International Committee of Red Cross and has also urged the Indian embassy in Baghdad to help in the release of the Nepali hostage.
