Before it's time to hashtag ‪#‎nepalilivesmatter‬ because of innumerous deaths due to lack of medical supplies and lack of transportation to medical assistance, we - Nepalis - need to do what we can to prevent it.

The lack of action by Nepali politicians to gain any international support makes it clear that there is an impending humanitarian crisis in few weeks if not months.

Most Nepalis do not have enough resources to recuperate from the recent earthquakes and are still homeless and struggling hard to make ends meet. On top of that, the blockade by India on essential medical goods and fuel have elevated the hardship to inhumane level. The blockade of medical supplies is comparable to suffocating the sick. We need international support in order to pressure India to abide by international laws of transit rights of landlocked countries.

Nepali organizations all over the world need to proactively get the world's attention by organizing mass gatherings in their respective cities. The Nepali organizations should not stay incompetent like Nepali politicians in Nepal who are not doing anything about this. It's high time for Nepali organizations in the US and other countries to gather the masses to gain a momentum of support from Human Rights activists and other international bodies.

If you feel that India has a right to do this to resolve the Madhesi issues, then you do not need to respond to this. It is simply wrong to hold all of Nepal hostage to force Nepali govt to change their policies. Madhesi issues need to be resolved internally without India's pestering and bullying.

Please urge your local Nepali Organization to do this as soon as possible. #nepalilivesmatter ‪#‎stopblockade‬ #stopsuffocatingthesick
