1) I am trying to decide when is the best for me to apply for TPS with EAD cause I am on OPT and it will expire in Feb, 2016. After talking to my school adviser and a lawyer, I still didn't get the answers. School suggested to go to see a lawyer and the lawyer said that school questions should be answered by them.
Furthermore, I want to maintain my F1 status. Therefore, I am planning to apply for TPS with EAD in November. So, if I get biometrics notification after about a month or so, then I should get my another EAD on Jan or Feb, 2016 (based on average time calculation and it will be 3 months). Meanwhile, I will prepare to join University according to my plan. I will also have 60 days of grace period to join another school after getting my new EAD. What do think guys? Is this a good idea? Please share your suggestions because it's bugging me.

ans : Go ahead nice with the time calculations or else you can go for basic TPS now and then later EAD as per you need , you can also file for EAD after the dead line December this year , so be on the safe side as the process seems bit faster now, i cant say what that will be in later. Colleges say that all the time . you just need an assurance that they understand your situations and dont break your F1 status , just be courageous and explain the situation back home , 9000+ casualty out of earthquake is a big casualty. Another thing , you need to let the college once after you file the TPS (for more assurance)

2) For the EAD application through TPS, question 11 "which USCIS office and Dates" Do I have to write something like SRC (eg) but my adviser said CA service center and what should be the date, is it "valid from" date? Moreover, I chose c (19) for eligibility category. I am guessing I don't need to write my major like I did when I applied for OPT.

Ans Just go for the service center name and the date you will be fine .

3. 3) Finally, on i-821 application, page 6 (eligibility standards), I see "yes" or "no" questions. I have marked all "No" based on my background but if I have applied for Asylum, do I need to change my answer about political questions. Or if any one knows about a person who has filed for asylum should have any different answers on i-821 than a F1 student. Please let me know.
ans : if you had file asylum , you should go as that as well , however your present status will still be F1 .

I hope i tried to answer your Queries if not
