India rescues at least 10 Nepali migrant workers stranded in Yemen

DOHA, QATAR, APR 02 - At least ten Nepali migrant workers have been rescued from war torn nation of Yemen . The stranded workers have been rescued by the Indian government along with their citizens.

Saudi Arabia based Nepali Ambassador, Uday Raj Pandey, who also looks after Yemen , informed that eight of the workers were rescued from Aden and two from a neighbouring city. Nine workers, who are still stranded at Yemen ’s Capital city Sanaa, are yet to be rescued.

“The rescued workers have been sent to Djibouti, in Africa,” Ambassador Pandey said, “They will be flown to Nepal from there.” Djibouti is an Africa nation and Yemen ’s neighbouring country.

Among the rescued are, Anil Bishwokarma, Manoj Bhattarai, Prakash Dotel, Santosh GT of Chapkot-3, Syangja and Lekhnath Khanal of Rampur-9, Palpa who were workers at Lulu hypermarket.

Likewise, Gun Das Shrestha of Rampur-3, Ramechhap and Bhakta Bahadur Shrestha and Khumanand Poudel of Rampur-5, Ramechhap, who were workers at Aden Hotel were also rescued.

Ambassador Pandey informed that the remaining workers will also be rescued as soon as the Airport in Sanaa resumes operation.
