nnocent bystander, Ram Bahadur Pariyar, lost an eye in an acid attack and now he is stranded in the capital, Kathmandu, due to lack of money.
Jajarkot, July 30 – Pariyar was simply passing by Khalanga, when the acid attack took place. The unfortunate incident happened as Arjun Sunar of Khalanga-2, Jajajarkot threw acid at his uncle Jagat Sunar over a dispute between them. Some of the acid spilled on to Pariyar, damaging his eye.
Pariyar was airlifted to the capital along with severely injured Jagat Sunar. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Kathmandu Medical College but he does not have the money to pay for his treatment.
Pariyar comes from a very poor family from Tansi, Nayakbada VDC adjoining the border with the Jumla district. His family does not have food enough to feed the whole family even for three months, let alone pay for the treatment.
He had come to the district headquarters to take a tailoring training provided by the West Hills Project and was unfortunately caught up in the acid attack.
“Another injured Jagat Sunar has been admitted in the ICU at the Grande Hospital. His condition is said to be critical”, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Chakra Bahadur Singh. RSS
