Thanks to all Nepali friends for their input. I’d also like to pitch in based upon my personal experience.
- Be prepared/pro-active.
- Go through the meeting agendas (helpful links, ppt etc) prior to the meeting (provided meeting agenda is already available).
- Research on the key words based on the meeting agendas.
- Go through the company documentation based on the key words.
- Make a note of everything possible that you learned in your initial meeting (either in your MS word or regular pen and paper).
- You can voluntarily take a meeting minutes regardless of your job designation (newbie, entry level, Senior position, Manager level etc. This would help you follow up with different folks after the meeting. You can share the meeting minutes to everyone after the meeting. It’s a learning process and at least you are contributing something.
