riddle and trollaler!! why are you guys providing wrong info to someone asking some serious question? If you don't know, don't respond but don't just provide the wrong information.
JaiPashupatinath: if you marry a GC holder, your i-130 priority date (i-130 receipt date by USCIS) should be current before you can apply for i485 and EAD (work authorization). For the month of Dec 2014, the priority date for spouse of a GC holder is 22 March 2013 (1 year and 9 months behind), which means spouse of a GC holder who had filed I130 before 22 March 2013 can now apply for EAD and I485 provided i130 has been approved. So you have to wait for your i-130 priority date to be current before you can apply for EAD and i485. Only when you apply for EAD, you will receive it within 3-4 months.

You can apply for EAD and i-130 concurrently and receive EAD within 3-4 months (like riddle and trollalert are saying) ONLY IF you get married to a US citizen.
