Introduction
To pay special tribute to the late sons killed in road accident in within the period of nine months laid the foundation of today's Laxmi Pratisthan as a memorial foundation registered in Nepal, was founded in 2010. From its early inception with limited resource generated by the personnel donors and well-wishers irrespective of country, origin, color and geography Laxmi Pratisthan is intervening programs targeting to the most needy and vulnerable in to the remotest of the remote of Nepal and poorest of the poor communities. We are in the position to acknowledge our friends sharing that we have justified your valuable support translating it in to real life bringing a ray of hope to the most needy though in small scale but it is indicative that if your support continues we will be able to make the road by walking ,the road less traveled. Within these five years we realized and internalized that man is not made poor by god but rather by the fellow human being so it is our duty and responsibility to bring positive change in the lives of the socially excluded people. We believe that together it is possible.
We have seen that the issues of Dalits, Kamaiyas, Madhesies, Janajati (ethnics and indigenous), women and children have always been the issues of margin and within the human rights discourse these section of society are not that much amplified in terms of democratic participation, representation and access to services and resources. We have seen and realized that the planned development intervention of aid lead development in the country has not been able to change the situation of these margins that are living under the vicious cycle of poverty, negligence and isolation. Numbers of programs and projects were designed for the the populace so that to transform these people at the receiving end but many of such development interventions became useless for our target groups. This clearly reflects a fact that still there is a huge gap to acknowledge the issues of margin and be part of the change process. We believe that poverty is a denial and violation of human rights and stems from a historical process of exclusion and injustice. More than ever before, we are presented with a historic opportunity to address the structural factors that cause poverty and ensure the rights of people living in poverty. So Laxmi Pratisthan also sincerely leading its role taking actions and interventions directly based up on the need assessments where there is the strong participation of the community people. It frames and designs the programs/ projects as per most need.
To bring the positive changes in the lives of marginalized, oppressed, deprived, poorest of the poor and socially excluded s we believe in do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can so that to bring happiness in the face of neglected humans in our societies. Thus Laxmi Pratisthan intervenes directly the programs and projects targeted to these right holders. Generating ownership, people's participation and engaging people themselves in their development process are our approaches. Skill transformation, economic empowerment, gender mainstreaming with the themes of Education, Livelihood and Income generation, lessening vulnerability, Health and Empowerment through integrated approach and sustainable framework. We work with the most neglected people/community and groups in remotest of the remote of Nepal.
