Civic Sense in Civil Mall

Oh finally! I made some time for Andrew Garfield (I let you guys take Emma Stones). QFX cinemas at Civil Mall in Sundhara Kathmandu, has this amazing rule that if we put a booking then we have to pick the tickets latest by ½ hour before the movie, and if we have done an online booking then we have to reconfirm it at least 1 hour before the show. Wow! Why would I do the bookings if it’s more hassle than going there and buying it on the stop. The only benefit is “ hey I get to choose the seats” .

Anyway, I love super hero movies, from X-men to Spiderman, from DC to Marvel comics especially if it’s in 3D. It is nothing fancy, but still I love the way it is. Love the colours of the outfits to the beautiful special effects. I had an extremely long week and honestly I needed a break. I wish I can get a vacation twice a year which lasts for six months…( LOL yea I love this one liner from facebook).

I don’t know if you have come across these annoying people in the cinema halls, I have been through this over and over again. The last time I went to the cinema ( that was Rio 2, two weeks back), I ended up swearing at this woman behind me for putting her feet right across my face. I mean this is not your drawing room that you put your feet up on the coffee table and watch a movie. For that you need to go to the Khasa bazaar in Mahabaudha and buy DVDs ( by the way, I do have a lot of DVDs which i bought from the market, you get final print of the newly released movies in a months time and this kind of piracy can only sustain in the sub continent lol).

Yea I am annoyed. I am angry. I feel like what is wrong with people. My friends who live abroad, told me that if your mobile phone rings inside the theater you are immediately asked to leave, but here….I was trying to give Mr. Garfield some of my attention this man sitting right beside me who has this extremely annoying ringtone ( yes, the gentleman didn’t even put it on viberation) picks it up and goes loudly, “ Hello!! Aaan annn bhana…….hoina ma yaha Civil Mall ma…..k garnu yaar movie heri rya…..Espiderman…..hahhahahaha….teita hai… lah lah bhetumla hai….ma phone garera pathauchu”.

My mum recently told me to keep my cool by breathing in and out when I am about to get angry. So there I was breathing……IN…..breathing …..OUT…..IN…..and OUT . And there you go…. Ambrosia is calm. Successful!

And it didn’t last. The guy behind me was hitting the chair with his feet. Not once, not twice but every 1 minute I get a blow on my head indirectly….again I was  trying to breathe by the blow on my head was very distracting, it was fueling my anger. Very calmly, I turned back and said “ excuse me khutta na hanni dinus na….disturb bhayo”….. the guy acts as if he didn’t understand “ khai maile ta kehi gareko chaina ta”.

Again he did the same thing. I told myself I am not going to react, I am going to be a typical Nepali girl and adjust to what is happening. But sorry hai!! I got up, I turned back and this time I said , “ Dude one more time you move your leg close to my seat I am going to smash your face, just coz you paid for the movie doesn’t mean you own this place, we all equally paid for it and acting like this is called being uncivilized….. thank you and enjoy your movie.”

Trust me , sometimes it works. I watched Andy with all my popping eyes and thumping heart. I had to lose my cool to teach this guy some civil sense. I am no Atlas to keep the burden of correcting the world on my shoulder but next time atleast this guy will probably tie his feet to his neck.
