Taking a child away from her parents and growing her up in the deprivation of their love and care is inhumane. I do agree that there should be reforms to fit the interest of both the parents and the child involved. But from the process of choosing kumari to the end of her goddesshood, her human rights have been so violated that if there should be such a reform that maintains both her rights to freedom and the meaning of her goddesshood, then it would be a difficult taks. So from my point of view, we should end this crap. I don't mean end Indra Jatra but the practice of Kumari.
