Good post Pisces! And you are right about the rollercoaster ride; sometimes it can be a bungee jump! Sweetiepie: While you are doing an admirable job at holding the "woman's rights" fort, you are are being egged on by the offensive verbiage. Sweeping all Nepalese men into the proverbial "MCP trash bag" does not help the issues of equal rights. I have had the good fortune to have met many Nepalese men who advocate for women and human rights. Women's right is no different from basic human rights and need not be politicised to the point of segregating the whole Nepalese population into male versus female. There are changes being made; the process is slow. One good example is: questioning the need for the "Kumari" in our society. Such a critical thought has never before been applied to a religously and traditonally sensitive issue such as "the living Goddess". And if you do click on the thread posted here, you will find our sajha men opposing the traditions of the Kumari on grounds of human rights. Please do not get sucked into verbal bashing of a whole gender just because of a few offensive posts.
