I feel, reading and posting in similar post in the past few days, people who watch all these hindi movies and dance to hindi songs trying really hard to to justify their choice. I do feel their fear of being labeled pro-Indian. Anytime someone posts something remotely close to questioning the role of these art/music, they get really defensive because in their mind, it is a direct assault to their nationality. Its a dichotomy, on their mind that they simply cannot resolve.

This does not encompass all, some have made good argument with other philosophical reasons but others, not so much...

p.s. Mr. Onion, please educate this rickshaw puller (as you have implied) where is the comedic relief you talk about in your original sentence. For this simple minded, it merely seemed like your ideological leaning jotted down in a badly put argument (as I might point out, rest of you post has justifies). As your admirer of your other comedic snippets, I am at a total loss for reason on this one.
