NewYork2014: it depends on your background, interest and perspective for what training to choose.

If you do not have previous IT background, and want to start off with not very advanced IT training, choose QA or BA. Between QA and BA, QA/BA are not very hard to learn and sustain in job once you find one. Scope wise, they are fine - not too weak and not too strong. BAs usually gather requirements from different stakeholders and present/review requirements among other things, so this involves some presentations/communicating with other people. So its a big plus to have a fine communicating skills for BA role. QA on the other hand does not involve that much communication.

If you want to go for a little more advanced training, can choose BI (Business Intelligence such as IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects, SQL SSRS etc. ) or little more technical, then choose Database (SQL, Oracle, DB2, etc.).

If Highly technical, then can choose programming.....quiet hard to learn but high in scope.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!
