I tried to find how priority date is determined but it is damn confusing. So it would be of great help if any one can give me some information for the question I have.

lets say I am on H1B since 2011.  If I file for GC now, what would be my priority date? is it gonna be 2011 or the date that USCIS acknowledge my GC filing.  

Since H1B is dual intent visa, I personally think the priority date would be  2011. However I am not sure so anyone who filed GC from H1B could be of great help here.
