Hmmm... yes I agree, the current national anthem is concentrated wholly on the king and not on the nation or its citizens. I mentioned this to one of my friends, who happens to be shah by the way, and he said king is Nepal and Nepal is king, therefore giving praise to king is like giving praise to Nepal. Upon hearing that I gave him a big wedgie that his grandkids would not forget. Continuing with the same thought, has anybody considered Nepali flag? What are its symbolic meanings. The same Shah friend of mine opined that "chandrama" and "surya" are there because the royal family are the descendents of "chandrabamshi" and "suryabamshi." This leads me to believe that, much like the national anthem, the flag too is more symbolic of the royalties and less or non of Nepal and Nepalis. What say you?
