KATHMANDU, OCT 20 - Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) chief Lokman Singh Karki has clarified that he did not get a uniformed police personnel wash his feet.

Karki came up with an appeal of clarification after being criticised over a photograph that showed a uniformed police personnel wash his feet during a recent visit to Gorkha.

Karki. "When I came out of from the temple there was some blood on my feet and I tried to wash it off. But, seeing the difficulty I was facing because of my physical state and the narrow space, a police personnel offered to help me by pouring water without touching my feet. However, I have felt the picture and the news of this incident was published in a way that defames my character", Karki said in his appeal today.

The CIAA chief commissioner said that his silence was being taken as his weakness and further mentioned that he had to come up with the appeal so as to make the public aware of the 'fact'.

"There is no similarity between what was seen in the picture and the words that were used to carry the news. This surely is a matter of character assassination and the renewal of new series of conspiracy against me," Karki further stated in his appeal.
