It is amazing to know that though these theories are far apart they are some how related. Confirmation of the many of the effects general relativity became possible, through the technologies developed in by the quantum theory. Both theories, for example, were essential to the development of the global positioning system (GPS), which we use in our cars to find position, by comparing timing signals broadcast by satellites, and can tell you where you are within a few feet anywhere on Earth. To achieve such extreme accuracy, the calculation must take into account relativity's effect on time. Moreover, the timing signals themselves must be accurate to one second in 100,000 years. Such accuracy would be impossible without the atomic clock, an invention that is based on the quantum mechanics. We can only conclude that at its most fundamental level, where we talk about particles, the universe is indeed discrete. On the other hand, General relativity, however, is a classical continuum theory, which conceives of the universe as continues. So it seems that there is philosophy of ýdwaitý wining here. Which can be described as two deferent aspects of Brhamand:the whole continues feature which connects every creature and bits to the supreme through the continues and seamless space, but still there is an another aspect ýthe individualityý of the creature which is important for being itself. So far, there is no generally accepted quantum theory of gravity, though some theorists believe they are close. We can again say that ýadwiatý is not impossible it is just a matter of connecting the individual to the supreme. Newton's genius was to recognize that the fall of an apple is described by the same mathematical laws that govern the orbits of the planets, we do not need one law for planets and another for apples. It has been the goal of physicists ever since to discover the underlying equations that govern everything, from the birth of stars to falling in love. Then comes the "theory of everything," a single equation that would make sense of the entire universe.. You change some parameters to describe relation of the earth and the sun, or relation of you and you girlfriend (philosophically) or relation of the electron and photon) Since the quantum mechanics has not been yet properly connected with general relativity means only that there are great discoveries still to be made. Then human life will be just a small flash of life trapped in a little planet moving around one of the planets of the one of the billions of stars. We will have clearer picture of how everything works, it will be like watching Katmandu from the tall dharhara, instead of juggling around the Thamel. crish
