RIP HP, your Windows 7 Restore partition is corrupt,
Like with most HP, prolly your GPU is already fried as well..buddy..

DON‘T BUY HP !!!
But, since it's your “someone”s laptop, tell him/her the sad story.
Btw, it's not called redownload, it's called Windows 7 factory re-setup using recovery partition.
What is 'default slot'? anyway..
