I cannot believe that kanchi (supposedly Nepali cheli) can put such kind of thread and there will be a line of sheep supporting that. Think about a lady in remote village. She works from 4.00am to 8.00pm everyday, from cooking, taking care of gai-bhainsi, taking care of sasu-sasura, taking care of husband-children..........I don't know what else. They never had time for any kinda fun or whatever. For the whole year they keep waiting for Teej, when they go back to Maiti, relax, dance , eat, share their feelings crying or laughing to their mom and dad.........and every possible thing they want to do. Ask them what is the importance of Teej? Now I can guess you guys celebrate charismas, new year, Valentines day ...etc thinking you are very modern and any body doing the age old cultural stuff is stupid. Why you guys donýt think that, because of such kind of festivals and more our parents are still living together and not divorced. Family ties based on such stuff, which you so called Americanized people forgot about. Salam chha mero saabai lai..... And scientifically it is good for health to give rest once a week to your stomach, the routine even many Hollywood stars follow nowadays. No offense to anybody please.
