Hello Newtrader,

Nursing in hospital doesn’t pay that much in Dallas unless you wana work in a nursing home or home health. Most hospitals pay around $19-22 and depend on your experience level as well. If you have good experiences, i would suggest you to take easy job working in home health or nursing homes. You can bargain for ur pay stuffs. I did worked in nursing home and i got paid $27/hr and i made same money in home health as well. It was during my opt period. But you should be willing to drive farther. I drove 60 miles to work for pediatric home health n about 25 miles to nursing home job. I had such a nice family n I still talk with them.

If you are transferring your RN license to Texas, then they will give u a temporary license for 3 months (i believe). After that you have to give an online test that has 50 questions and its abt Texas nursing laws. You have to pass that as well. Also, u gota do finger printing as well.

If you are looking to earn more money, u should move to California, New York or Boston. They pay good money. Texas, Oklahoma sp south, they dont pay that much. But there are abundant jobs and more opportunities. Be prepare to drive and get hot.

 gud luck....
