Huge cache of marijuana recovered from ambulance
BARA, FEB 28 - Simara police recovered around 150 kg of marijuana from an ambulance in Simara here in the district on Thursday night.
Area Police Office in Simara seized the contraband drug from the amublance heading for Siraha from Basamadi of Makwanpurat at around 12:10 last night.
This has revealed that drug dealers have been misusing ambulance s for smuggling the illegal drugs.
Acting on a tip-off, police took control of the ambulance (Na 2 Cha 6780) and recovered the marijuana in 12 packets.
Meanwhile, ambulance driver Chintamani Sapkota, of Rajahar in Nawalparasi, and marijuana owner Krishna Gole of Basamadi, Makwanpur, have been detained for further investigation.
According to police, Chhetri Samaj, Bharatpur was operating the ambulance since February 2.
