Police not to press charges against Sugam Pokharel

Police officials have said they will not press charges against pop star Sugam Pokharel, who was one of the seven people held with drugs in Maitidevi, Kathmandu, on Friday.

Nepal Police Spokesperson DIG Keshav Adhikari said an investigation showed that Pokharel was not doing drugs and no banned substance was recovered from his possession. He, however, said that one of the other six, believed to be Pokharel's acquaintance, was a suspected drug peddler.
