Proud To Be Nepali?

Freedom, my general take on ‘what is there to be proud of’ is quite unimportant (no offense). Yet, I recognize that many people (US flag mounting Americans to Nepalese) do this, so you hear about it all the time and perhaps it does deserve some discussion.

Human Nature: It has been in human nature to find some reasoning to feel happy about themselves. No matter how stretch that is, no matter how valid that is. And one should do too…if you only kept on seeing other good, but beating yourself…life becomes of dismay. But here is my personal take: The designations that come with your birth are the lowliest of all reasons to be proud of; your caste, your nationality, your religion, your knighthood, bla bla bla

Inferiority Complex: Little bit is ok, I guess. But the people who have too much of those highlighted above, I think, know deep inside that they lack something. They are less something, so they try to compensate that inferiority complex by coming up with whatever they can find along the way. Why Kalikot-wasi may not give a damn about each other while in Kalikot, but all of sudden you come to Ktm and feel so much of love towards another Kalikote and haste to Kalikot-Ktm Samparka Samiti or alike J. (I know the sharing of common expectation and feel comfortable) but the real reason is that inferiority complex. Other nations have long history, long nationality, old culture as their identity. To compensate that some people in the US buy a flag pole and flap it around all day long as a reminder of their nationality. What is it?

Achievement: I also share that it is their personal choice who decide (not) to accept any other nationality. And I fully respect that of yours and others’. Working hard part: ehey, not sure. It depends, I guess. Is it more of ‘leechy’ intention or you're simply ‘pursuing your happiness per your own terms’. Only the individuals can answer that.

Free Market: I think it also brings up a fundamental question of the economic system that you may believe? Do you believe in more controlled market or free market? Do you believe in buying only Shikhar shoes because that is a Nepali company or you totally comfortable with buying Bata shoes if you think that is better? A lot of people nowadays say ‘I would go with whatever gives me more bang for my buck’. Too bad if Shikhar shoes is not innovative. I am not going to through my money to those lazy Shikhar designers, just because we both are Nepalese. Agree? This analogy is just to make a point that human capital move around in this globalized village…back and forth. One could argue that society will not put you into its heart if you don’t perform like Bata designer, somewhat. It goes both ways. If you are Gerard Depardieu, you will get to shake hand with Vladimir Putin and get your passport right there right then, if you are not, then you will be questioned to death, for f---g 5yrs like Yamaraj would do :). Why? So what is achievement? What is fair?
